In the “Service to Society” learning process, students combine the acquisition of academic knowledge with socially useful work for the benefit of others, the ability to critically think about the real challenges of society with the awareness and development of their personal qualities, independence in decision making with the need to cooperate and work in a team. The structural components of the curriculum for the subject “Service to Society” are carried out in 2 stages and include classroom and practical training.

At stage 1, students acquire theoretical knowledge through practical classes in the classroom for 6 weeks; in week 7, students are assigned projects in selected areas, united in teams and developed a project proposal. From weeks 8 to 14, students implement a project; in week 15, projects are defended.

At stage 2, project activities are implemented, which last 8 weeks. The chosen project will depend on the field of social services, that is, social organizations.

During classroom lessons, students learn about volunteering, leadership, critical thinking and other topics being studied, identify problems, analyze cases, projecting them onto the implementation of their own project. During the practical part, students implement their projects in institutions of the North Kazakhstan region.

Projects are carried out in social, environmental, socio-political, sports, cultural and educational, media, ethno-cultural, and medical areas.

Formation of an active life position in students and mastering the skills of project activities, understanding the psychological foundations of effective communication, critical thinking through involvement in solving specific problems of society.

Tasks of the discipline (course):

• formation of a theoretical basis for business communication;

• developing students’ skills in project activities;

• development of critical thinking skills and constructive problem solving;

• developing skills in working with information, questioning, using statistical analysis methods for data processing;

• ability to see the connection between theory and practice;

- development of leadership and teamwork skills;

• altruism, education of value orientations towards serving society.

Volunteering is an expression of true patriotism, because it consists of a good idea to serve one's country, a desire to make the country better and more suitable for it. In connection with the introduction of the new subject of "Service to the community" of the OC, many projects began to appear in this field. With the help of other groups, we are pleased to offer you a database of all social projects implemented by KU students.

The problem is that there is no way to know about the volunteer movement. The reason for this is the weakness of the information space around this topic. Therefore, our project is more relevant than ever. It allows our readers to learn, engage and motivate them to take action. This is the essence of our project.
